Seojung Jang is a Lighting designer for theater, opera, and dance originally from South Korea. She graduated MFA lighting design at Northwestern University at 2024. Recent design credits include Northwestern University: The Tempest, The Aliens, Working a musical, The Revolutionist, Dancework: Foreshadows of the Flesh, Me Jane, and MuLan.
She has created productions ranging across many scales and styles. Venues sizes have ranged from town halls to opulent theaters, and has experienced in international: USA, South Korea, Japan, China, Scotland, and Portugal. Also, Seojung works as a programmer, especially in musicals and plays. Musical BIG FISH(directed by Scott Schwartz) that she has worked at Seoul Arts Center, CJ Towol theater, used 4000 pixel panels and over 200 movers including VARI, Martin, Clay Parky’s lights.
She received a 1st Degree lighting certification in South Korea from The Organization of Theatrical Arts & Technicians. (This is the highest level of lighting-certification in South Korea and combines the skills of designing, electrics and programming.)
